Larry premiered with Mambo Street at the Octopus Lounge in Pacifica, CA on Sat., Feb., 8 '03. The newest addition to Mambo Street, his jazzy vocal stylings bring a new flavor to the old spice. Whether playing flute to enhance Latin favorites, or sax to add soul to the oldies, Larry fits in perfectly with Mambo Street.

Larry began performing at an early age at his birthplace in the wards of New Orleans, LA. His family later moved to Los Angeles where he was fortunate to benefit from the tutelage of greats like Al MaKay (Earth Wind and Fire), Billy Preston and Horace Tapscott.

His professional career began to form after his arrival to San Jose where he has performed at various venues adding his personal touch, vocally and instrumentally, in the jazz, r&b, rock, latin, hip-hop, poetry, reggae, musical theater and pop genres.

He has shared the stage with the likes of Greg Karakas, Muddy Watters, Chris Cain, the Fowler Brothers and Lakeside Express?to name a few.

Refu, as he is known by his friends, is currently composing arranging, recording and performing with many projects to be released on CD in the Spring and Summer of ?04. Keep an eye out for this up-and-coming talent.
